Craig Anderson

Welcome to Paloma Valley HS, home of the Wildcats.  I'm excited to be the head coach of the boys basketball program.  I have always loved the game of basketball since I was a little kid playing in the backyard with my 3 older brothers in Portland, Or.  Growing up, I was either playing or watching and learning the game of basketball throughout college and into post-college life.  I'm always trying to learn and become a better student and coach of the game.
I started coaching in 1998 for an NJB all-star team in Encinitas, Ca.  When I moved to Murrieta, I obtained a teaching job with the Menifee Union district, and started coaching the Bell Mountain team.  A couple of years later, I was coaching at Paloma Valley HS.  From there, I went to teach and coach at Murrieta Valley HS for 10 years.  Then,  I had the opportunity to come back to Paloma Valley to teach and coach.  It was an exciting moment to have that opportunity to come back to PVHS.
I really enjoy teaching and coaching the game of basketball.   In all of my years as a coach, I’ve seen the players on all of these teams progress and develop their skills both on and off of the court.  I have been part of some very successful teams and have gone undefeated at 3 different levels of basketball for middle school, Freshman and JV.  I believe that through coaching and team bonding that players learn life lessons in communication, teamwork, organization, and preparation.
I'm looking forward to an exciting year and season for our boys basketball team.
